Folios 469-469A: Sir Robert Mends, HMS Assistance, [Portsmouth]. Requests the Run is taken off Thomas Williams, Assistant Surgeon, HMS Pegase and formerly HMS Magicinne on HMS Pegase, prison ships books. Lieutenant Allen made him run when he didn't return from leave. He has investigated and says William's severe ill health continues.
Folio 470-471: enclosed in folios 469-469A: Letter dated 17 June 1814 by Thomas Williams, late Surgeon, HMS Magicinne, 35 Monmouth [Road?] Portsea. Joined HMS Pegase as assistant surgeon 16 October 1813. Six weeks leave 15 January from Transport Board who couldn't give him an extension whilst on full pay. He returned to Edinburgh to keep his term at college to get his Doctor's degree.
Folio 472: enclosed in folios 469-469A. Letter dated 24 March 1814 by Sir Andrew Duncan MD and John Thalcher MD, University Professors, Edinburgh, 24 March 1814. Say it's a danger for Thomas Williams to remain employed whilst suffering from Haemorrhoids and dysentery symptoms.
