Folios 395-396: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Since his letter of 17 June 1813 relative to the case of William Putsford Mate of the Amelia from Bermuda who had no bond Certificate and was imprest on that account, Alos stating that such Document could not be procured in Foreign Ports, or vour own Colonies. Two other cases exactly similar have occured respecting two men:- 28 June 1813, John Pearson, Mate of the ASrdent from Greenock. Affidavit but no Bond. and 29 June 1813, John Sinclair, Mate of the Brothers from Martinique, Affidavit but ni Bond. He requests to be informed if he is to consider such cases as impressable or whether he is to consider an Affidavit made at the time of shipment as sufficient protection.
