Folios 232-233: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 22 May 1813 ordering the discharge of Thomas Taylor, stated by Mr Rothwell to be his Clark and to have been sent on board HMS Princess as an American. In reply he states that this man is a Seaman and detained as a Prisoner of War not being able to prove him an Englishman (which he strongly suspects). As Mr Roth wells has represented this case. He has detained the Man until their Lordships further Orders.
