Folios 221-222: John Maxwell, HMS Favorite, Portsmouth. States Captain Frederick Paul Irby of HMS Amelia having returned a time piece to the Academy which he was allowed on the Coast of Africa. He found of the greatest utility navigating the ship on that coast. He requests an order for a timepiece be supplied for HMS Favorite.
