Folios 219-220: Robert Mends,HMS Assistance, Portsmouth Harbour. Reply to letter dated 19 May 1813 requesting to know the Rating of David Rouncey alias avid Rowen lent to HMS Pegase appears to be entitled. He staters he has been nearly twenty one years at sea in His Majesty's Service and was invalided for Harbour duty from HMS Tonnant, in which he appears by a Certificate from Sir John Gore he was rated Ordinary Seaman and was disrated to Landsman as he states in consequence of a fall, after which he did duty as Captain of the Mast.
