Description

Folios 197-198: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 18 May 1813. He states:- (1) Philip Weary was impressed by Lieutenant Salmon on 13 May 1813 aged 20 born in Jersey. He first said he was a Clerk and came from St Michaels, but after confessed to Lieutenant Salmon he was a Seafaring Man and was to go as Mate with the Captain if he got another Vessel. He is now on HMS Princess. (2) Edward Halewood entered with Lieutenant Salmon on 7 April 1813 as a Landsman Volunteer aged 30 born in Ormskirk.

Folios 199-200: enclosure with folios 197-198. Letter dated 15 May 1813 by Robin and King, Liverpool to the Admiralty. Affidavit that Mr Philip Weary was impressed. Requests his discharge.

Folios 201-202: enclosure with folios 197-198. Letter dated 14 May 1813 by Peter Briard, Liverpool to the Admiralty. Sworn before Thomas Golightly, Justice of the Peace. That Peter Briard, Merchant that Philip Weary embarked at the Island of Jersey as a Passenger on the Ship Young Phoenix, Peter Duval Master bound Chafee Briton.

Folios 203-204: enclosure with folios 197-198. Letter dated 15 May 1813 by Ellen Halewood, Stone Street, Prescot, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of her Husband.
