Folios 326-327: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Thomas Dempsey does not appear on the books of HMS Princess or the Rendezvous. Christopher Wilson, Mate of the Phoebe, whose discharge has been ordered, was discharged into the Eliza & Jane tender on 23 July [1812] for a passage to Plymouth.
Folio 328: enclosure with folios 326-327. Petition dated 16 November 1812 from William Thomas, care of 7 Milk Street, Near Thomases Street, Manchester, to the Lords of the Admiralty. He is Master of Thomas Dempsey, a boy of 14. He was sent by coach from Manchester to Liverpool and was sent on board HMS Princess. Captain Galloway said he could not grant his discharge. but ordered him to petitoion the Admiralty as his Master.
