Folios 310-311: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Robert Burns was impressed by LIeutenant Walker on 7 [November 1812] as an Able Seaman, aged 29, born in Workington. He said he was Mate of the Eagle but had no proof. Edward Evans entered on board HMS Princess and was discharged into HMS Bittern on 15 [November 1812] for a passage to Portsmouth. James Armstrong was impressed by Lieutenant Salmon on 1 [November 1812] as an Able Seaman aged 26, born in Whitby.
Folios 312-313: enclosure with folios 310-311. Letter dated 12 November 1812 from John Haywood, Liverpool, to the Secretary of the Admiralty, London. Robert Barnes was impressed last Tuesday but was the Mate of the Eagle transport transporting troops from there to Dublin. His Captain had not supplied him with his papers. He has been unwell for a long time. He has a wife and 2 small children and an aged mother entirely dependent on him. He is a local Militia man with a certificate which has been shown to Captain McCleod and is by trade a plumber and glazier living in Workington but has recently been employed in the coaling trade as Mate.
Folios 314-315: enclosure with folios 310-311. Letter dated 12 November 1812 from Thomas Harrison, Baker, Liverpool, to J W Croker, Secretary of the Admiralty, London. Encloses the indenture [not present] of Edward Evans, his apprentice, now on board HMS Princess. Captain Galloway of HMS Princess has promised to detain him there until receipt of the reply.
Folios 316-317: enclosure with folios 310-311. Letter dated 14 November 1812 from James Armstrong, HMS Princess, Liverpool, to J M Barrow, Secretary, Admiralty Office, London. He was impressed on 2 November [1812]. He has a wife and 2 children. Asks for his discharge on payment of the stipulated sum.
Folios 318-319: enclosure with folios 310-311. Letter dated 13 November 1812 from James Armstrong, HMS Princess,Liverpool, to J W Croker, Admiralty Office, London. He is a poor man taken from a wife and family who cannot work. Asks permission to get substitutes in his place or pay whatever money is required. Asks for the reply to be sent to Portsmouth as he believes the ship will sail in 2 or 3 days,.
