Folios 302-303: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Christopher Wilson was imnpressed by Lieutenant Archbold on 22 July [1812] as an Ordinary aged 20, born in Holyrood. He said he was Mate of the Phoebe but had no certificate to prove it.
Folios 304-305: enclosure with folios 302-303. Letter dated 11 November [1812] from [Lord] Castlereagh, St James's Square, [London] to J W Croker.. Submits the enclosed application for consideration.
Folios 306-307: enclosure with folios 304-305. Petition dated 24 September 1812 from Alicia Wilson, Holyrood, toLord [Castlereagh?] signed by John Turnly [sp?], John Crawford and H Kennedy, certifying that she is the mother of Christopher Wilson, one of her chief supporters. Applies for the restoration of her son Christopher Wilson. He sailed from there as Mate of the Phoebe bound for Liverpool but was impressed at Liverpool. She is a widow and he is her sole support, as certified by some of the most respectable gentlemen in the county. If he cannot be released without a substitute she will try to get another peson in his place.
Folios 307-307A: enclosure with folios 304-305. Affidavit dated 29 September 1812 sworn by James Cavan, Master of the Phoebe of Belfast, before Gilbert McElvean [sp?], JP for the County of Antrim. On 7 March [1812] he sailed from Belfast bound for Quebec with Christopher Wilson as his Chief Mate on board the Phoebe. In the hurry of clearing out, the Bond for the Mate was neglected, but the affidavit and Protection were procured for him. Christopher Wilson sailed as Chief Mate to Quebec and back to Liverpool, where he was impresed. The only ground for detaining him was the lack of the Mate's bond.
Folio 307A: enclosure with folios 307-307A. Certificate dated 29 September 1812 from Crawford & Wallace, Belfast. They are owners of the Phoebe and were anxious to have her cargo sent to Quebec as soon as possible. Christopher Wilson sailed in her as Chief Mate, but the Bond was neglected prior to her sailing.
