Folios 290-291: Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Richard Gornall does not appear on the books of the Rendezvous, but Captain Galloway infroms him he entered on board HMS Princess on 18 August 1811 and was sent to Plymouth and has since been drafted to HMS Narcissus. Joshua Glohalm was impressed by LIeutenant Walker on 17 August [1812] as an Able Seaman and Shipwright, aged 24, born in Lucee [sp?].
Folios 292-293: enclosure with folios 290-291. Letter dated 9 November 1812 from Robinson & Hammond, Austin Friars, [London] to John Barrow. They apply on behalf of Thomas Tinley of Dockway Square, North Shields, owner of the Mary, George Ord Master, whose servant Joshua Gloholm, late Carpenter of the Mary, was impressed on board HMS Salvador del Mundo where he is rated as Ordinary Seaman. Mr Tinley wishes to purchase his discharge.
Folios 294-295: enclosure with folios 290-291. Letter dated 5 November 1812 from J M Brackenbury, Liverpool, to J W Croker, Admiralty, London. He has been sent the enclosed Memorial requesting him to forward it through one of the Members for the borough, but he is forwarding it direct.
Folio 296-297: enclosure with folios 294-295. Letter dated October 1812 from Thomas Gornall and Mary Gornall, of Scorton near Garstang, reply care of James Middlewood, Redcross Street, Liverpool, to J C Croker. Their only son Richard Gornall aged 18 received harsh treatment from his Master from whom he was learning the business of a cordwainer, and left his situation in the autumn of 1811 and entered on board HMS Princess at Liverpool. They eventually heard that he was on board HMS Salvador del Mundo, Captain Nash, at Plymouth. They are growing old and are in reduced circumstances. Their son is deeply sorry and wishes to return. Offer to pay for his discharge, which they will not be able to do themselves but have friends and relations who can help.
