Folios 200-201: William Archbold, Senior Lieutenant in the absence of [Donald M'Leod [MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool.] Pearson Chatterton entered with him on 9 [September 1812] as a Boy Volunteer aged 16, born in Warrington. He denied being an apprentice. Captain Galloway says he was drafted on 12 [September 1812] into HMS Neptune for a passage to Plymouth.
Folios 202-203: enclosure with folios 200-201. Letter dated 10 October 1812 from George Furnival and William Chatterton, Warrington, to John Wilson Croker, Admiralty, London. About 5 weeks ago Pearson Chatterton, son of William Chatterton, Joiner, an apprentice to George Furnival, Currier by indenture dated 11 June 1810 for 7 years, entered on board HMS Princess at Liverpool from which he was drafted onto HMS Neptune and then onto HMS Bittern and is believed to have gone round to Plymouth. They apply for him to be restored to his Master.
