Description

Folios 314-315: Robert Mends, HMS Assistance, Portsmouth. Encloses petitions by Thomas Carliell, Midshipman of HMS San Damaso and William Bryan, Seaman of HMS Assistance.

Folios 316-317: enclosure with folios 314-315. Letter dated 3 May 1812 by Thomas Carliell to Lieutenant Thompson of HMS San Damaso. Asks to be discharged from the service on health grounds.

Folios 318-319: enclosure with folios 314-315. Petition dated 7 May 1812 by William Bryan, harbour duty seaman serving on HMS Assistance. Asks to be discharged having served at sea 40 years, and also having lost a son drowned in HMS Blenheim, and a son on HMS Victory.

Folios 320-321: enclosure with folios 314-315. Petition dated 7 May 1812 by William Bryan, harbour duty seaman serving on HMS Assistance. Asks to be discharged.
