Folios 224-225: Robert Mends, HMS Assistance, Portsmouth. He is sending a letter from Monsieur Ducasse, French Prisoner of War on board HMS Veteran.
Folios 226-227: enclosure with folios 224-225 dated 10 October 1811 from Monsieur Ducasse, French Prisoner of War on board HMS Veteran. He has been a Prisoner of War for 6 years, and his attempts to arrange a prisoner excahange with an English prisoner have failed. He asks to be returned to France on parole and will abide by any conditions, to spend his remaining days amongst his ralative.
