Folios 211-212: Donald McLeod, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. James Unsworth entered with Lieuteant Walker as a Volunteer aged 19 years, born in Wigan. He said he was not an Apprentice, but formerly a Clerk in a house but was no longer required. Robert Lee entered with Lieutenant Archbold as a Boy Volunteer aged 17 years born in Manchester, stating he was not an Apprentice. Peter Sinclair was impressed by Lieutenant Archbold as an Ordinary Seaman aged 19 years from Londonderry. He said he was an Apprentice but did not have indentures. James Mayford entered with Lieutenant Archbold as a Boy Volunteer aged 16 years born in Liverpool. He is sending a discharge certificate from HMS Statira from a man saying he was James Painter age 25 years born in Bermuda. He is uncertain whether the certificate is genuine. The man is onboard HMS Princess until confirmation is received.
Folio 213: enclosure with folios 211-212: Discharge certificate for James Painter from HMS Statira dated 11 July 1810 signed by Second Lieutenant Henry Pym.
Folios 214-215: enclosure with folios 211-212 dated 8 October 1811 from Robert Hollhey, Whitly, near Wigan. He has obtained the necessary documents from the Admiralty to secure the discharge of the boy (un-named) who is being held on board the tender at the Regulating Office at Liverpool. He will pay subsistence expenses that are charged.
Folio 216: enclosure with folios 211-212. Certificate of baptism from the Parish Church of Wigan signed by William Banks as a true copy. James, 5th son of James Unsworth, of Standingates Hackster, and Elizabeth daughter of Edward and Nancy Topping born 30 August 1793.
Folio 217: enclosure with folios 211-212 from [Na Hitcher?] Justice of the Peace, Lancashire. Certificate that Robert Ashworth of Radcliff, Lancashire, Linen and Cotton Manufacturer, swore before him at Bollton that James Unsworth was his Apprentice with indentures dated 2 January 1809 for 7 years. He absconded without his consent.
Folios 218-219: enclosure with folios 211-212 from Robert Ashworth, Linen and Cotton Manufacturer, of Radcliff, Lancaster. James Unsworth his Apprentice quit his service witout his consent and entered on board HMS Princess at Liverpool, and then onboard HMS Bloodhound bound for Plymouth. He asks for him to be returned.
Folio 220: enclosure with folios 211-212 dated 10 October 1811 from Richard Ashton, Manchester. Reply to be left at the Sun, Queen Street, Deans Gate, Manchester. His Apprentice Robert Lee, left his position with other boys and went to Liverpool where he was impressed and sent onboard HMS Princess and then to Plymouth and is onboard HMS Salvador del Munde. He had s ent his indentures 4 months ago and asks for him to be discharged and the indentures returned.
Folio 221: enclosure with folios 211-212 dated 11 October 1811. Printed form"Application for discharge of Impressed Men" regarding Peter Sinclair, impressed at Liverpool, onboard HMS Princess. Applied for by Whitehouse and Galan, Liverpool, Merchants and Agents to the Owners.
Folios 222-223: enclosure with folios 211-212 dated 11 October 1811 from Ann Hackford, 13 Eaton Street, Liverpool. Her son James Hackford, age 14 years, was the Apprentice of James Queen, Slaterer and Plasterer, Liverpool. She asks for his discharge and is willing to repay any expenss incurred by him.
