Folios 154-155: J. MacNamara, Lieutenant, HMS Berwick, Spithead. He had been asked for a report of Lieutenants serving on HMS Berwick. He is sending a duplicateof a letter he sent on 11 September 1811, when onboard HMS Perel, in which he list the Officers onboard HMS Berwick. It was sent with HMS Banterer which was destined for the Fleet off Flushing..
Folios 156-157: enclosure with folios 154-155 dated 11 Septeber 1811 from J. MacNamara, HMS Berwick, off Texel. He had received a letter asking for details of Officers onboard HMS Berwick. Lieutenant Budgeon had been ill and not able to fulfil his duties. He gave Mr Anderson, whoih has served his time and passed as a Signal Officer, an Acting order to differentiate him from the other Midshipmen. He was not appointed to a vacancy, which he wouldnot have done without approval. He sent the Acting Order to the Admiralty in the hope that it would support his case for promotion. He lists the Officers onbaord: Lieutenant Shepheard, 1st Lieutenant; Lieutenant Donnellan, Lieutenant Davies, Lieutenant White, Lieutenant West.
