Folios 117-118: Donald McLeod, Regualting Captain, Liverpool. Charles Gibb was impressed to day by Lieutenant Archebold. The certificate he produced which he is sending, was declared to be a fraud by Mr Jeffcote, Examining Surgeon, Liverpool, despite being signed by someone purporting to be an Officer.
Folios 119-120: enclosure with folios 117-118 dated 16 September 1811 from James [l?] Assistant Surgeon RN, Naval Rendezvous, at Limerick. Charles Gibb was impressed and taken to the Naval Rendezvous and found to be unfit on examination, as he has a violent stricture of the urethra and a fistula in ano. John Jeffcott, Surgeon notes o 9 October 1811, that he had examined Charles Gibb on 9 September 1811 and found none of the features stted above.
