Folios 406-407: Donald McLeod, Regulating Captain, Liverpool. Regarding the case of Joseph Barber, aged 22, an Englishman who had run from his Master to America and procured an American protection certificate. A practice that is prevalent many hundred Englishmen in Liverpool so protected.
Folio 408: enclosure with folios 406-407. Certificate dated attesting to the service of Joseph Barber on board the Eleanor of Baltimore from 1 November 1809 to 6 May 1810 signed by Samuel Gover, Port Passage.
Folio 409: enclosure with folios 406-407. Certificate dated attesting to the service of Joseph Barber, Able Seaman, on board HMS Royal William from 12 April 1811 to 17 April 1811.
Folios 410-411: enclosure with folios 406-407. Certificate dated 6 April 1811 by the American Consulate, London, in regards to Joseph Barber.
Folio 411A: enclosure with folios 406-407. Certificate dated 30 June 1809 stating that Joseph Barber is an American citizen.
