Folios 370-371: Letter from Resident J. Macnamara, aboard HMS Monmouth at the Downs. He writes that after the members of the court had been sworn in for his trial, Lt George Ellerby of HMS bomb vessel Strombolo, had objected to Captain John Hancock, of the Nymphe, and Hyde Parker, of the Monmouth, as they had previously sat on the court of enquiry aboard the Strombolo. The members decided the objection was legal and justified by precedent, but as there were not now enough members to compose a court, the trial could not take place.
