Description

Folios 311-312: Donald M'Leod [Donald MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Reply to letter dated 25 March 1811. He states (1) William Allison entered with Lieutenant Donald Potter on 18 February 1811 as a Landsman Volunteer aged 19 born in Manchester. He positivly denied being an apprentice. (2) Robert Roberts was impressed by Lieutenant Thoimas Evans on 20 March 1811 as an Able Seaman aged 25 born in Barmouth. He had been Mate of several vessles, is a single man without family and left his last employ on 9 March 1811 only to engage as a Doch Gate Man (for protection) until he could get a better birth. (3) John White was impresses by Lieuytenant Henry Raye on 11 February 1811 as an Ordinary Seaman aged 21 born in Donegal. He was Lumper but could not give no reference to his employer, nor did any one appear on his behalf. He had every appearance of a seafearing man.

Folios 313-314: enclosure with folios 311-312. Letter dated 21 March 1811 by John Allison, No 7 Well Street, Shudehill, Manchester, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of his Son William Allison now on HMS Princess.

Folios 315-316: enclosure with folios 311-312. Letter dated 23 March 1811 by James Drinkwater, Mayor, Town Hall, Liverpool, to the Admiralty. Covering letter for the enclosed affidavit relative to Robert Roberts a Dock Gateman at Liverpool. Requesting he be discharged.

Folios 317-318: enclosure with folios 311-312. Affidavit dated 3 March 1811 of Simeon Frankland, Master of the Old Dock as the Port of Liverpool for Robert Roberts. Signed before James Drinkwater, Mayor.

Folios 319-320: enclosure with folios 311-312. Petition dated 22 March 1811 of Thomas Hodsten, Master of the Porter. Requests the discharge of John White now on HMS Princess. [Folio 320] Certificate signed by James Gildart, Justice of the Peace, Liverpool.
