Folios 304-308: Keith Maxwell, 23 Norfolk Street, Strand. Reply to letter dated 27 March 1811. [Nine sides of text - About his period in Command of HMS Arab and his being the Senior Officer on the Station off the African Coast].
Folios 309-310: enclosure with folios 304-308. John Fnilais. By the enclosed Papers it appears that Captain Keith Maxwell was in April 1806 Senior Officer on the Coast of Africa and Commanded HMS Arab. That he detained the American Ship Portsmouth and having intelligence to transmit of the appearance of an Enemy Squadron (under Jerome Bonaparte) on his Station he sent two Officers home in charge of the ship & dispatches Vis Lieutenant John Street & Mr Smith Master of HMS Arab. That Lieutenant John Street arrived in the Downs and proceeded to London with dispatches leaving Mr Smith to carry the Ship up to London. [Mentions] 23 April 1806, HMS Antelope, Captain Henry Bazely.
