Folios 209-210: Donald M'Leod [Donald MacLeod], Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Reports a man has been Impressed by Lieutenant Walker calling himself George Plumer, aged 24 and says he was born in Baltimore. He produced an American protection dated"Baltimore 9th August 1805 Signed Robert Purviance for George Plumers saying fair complexion (which is very dark) Light brown Hair (which is black) Blue Eyes (which are also very dark), the height is also in the protection 5 feet 6 3/4 Inch at 18 years of age (whereas he was measured only 5 feet 3 inch)" He also produced the enclosed Ticket of Discharge from HMS Boadicea dated 15 April 1810. From the above he has reason to suppose he is not the person whom the inclosed is intended to represent, therefore [he] request you will cause the necessary enquiries to be made - It appears from the evidence of the Captain that this man is married in America, but he has no doubt he is a British Seaman. He has been sent on board HMS Princess until his case is decided.
