Folios 253-254: Donald M'Leod, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Advises that John Albin, born in Cardigan, was impressed by Lieutenant Evans as an Able bodied Seaman and stated that he was Mate of the Venus. Advises that Jeremiah Patrick, alias Thomas Harris, born in Liverpool, was entered with Lieutenant Potter as a Landsman Volunteer and stated he had served his time to a Gunsmith and was not an Apprentice.
Folios 255-256: enclosed with folios 253-254. Letter dated 3 November 1810 by John Albin, HMS Princess, Liverpool, to the Admiralty. Asks for his discharge on finding a substitute so he can support an aged mother and family.
Folios 257-258: enclosed with folios 253-254. Letter dated 6 November 1810 by [A. Charles?], Bank of England, to the Admiralty. Advises that his friend Thomas Patrick of Liverpool has a son, under indenture of an Apprenticeship, who has entered the Navy. Advises that his articles have been mislaid in consequence of the removal from Manchester of the Attorney with whom these were lodged for safety. Asks for the young man's discharge.
Folios 259-260: enclosed with folios 253-254. Letter dated 28 October 1810 by Thomas Patrick, Liverpool, to the Reverend W Griffiths, 16 Canterbury Place, Lambeth. Advises that his son has entered the Navy and asks if he can assist in obtaining his discharge. Advises he is an Apprentice but his indentures cannot be found as the Attorney who holds them has left Manchester and can't be located.
Folios 261-262:enclosed with folios 253-254. Letter dated 6 November 1810 by James Richardson Cutler, Deansgate , Manchester, to the Admiralty. Asks for the discharge of his Apprentice, entered on board HMS Princess as Thomas Harris, although his correct name is Jeremiah Patrick. Advises that his indenture is missing as the Attorney who held them has left the country due to a misdemeanour.
