Folios 244-245: Keith Maxwell, HMS Nymphen, Little Nore. Advises he had sailed for the North Cape when a letter dated 21 July had been sent to him. Responds to a follow up letter asking for his reasons for bearing 2 Carpenters, James Clements and William Hinks between 27 July and 4 October 1809. Advises that William Hinks was tried by a Court Martial and was sentenced to be dismissed as Carpenter so he ordered him to be placed on the Supernumerary list. Advises that James Clements was appointed his successor until he was invalided on 5 October 1809 but his Clerk had mistakenly identified William Hinks as Carpenter after his dismissal. His oversight was caused by his focus on the Expedition to the Scheldt.
Folio 246: enclosed with folios 244-245. Admiralty document to be sent to the Paper Office dated 10 November 1810 about Captain Maxwell, HMS Nymphen giving his reasons for having borne 2 Carpenters on that ship. Sent to the Navy Board to correct the books on 13 November 1810.
