Folios 181-182: John Marshall, Regulating Officer, Poole Rendezvous. Advises that on 1 August James Miller volunteered to enter service but the next day Robert Major advised him that this man had absconded from his service but the navy was welcome to him. Advises he sent him to HMS Tisiphone. The next day he observed that James Miller was at work at Robert Major's Rope walk and he apprehended him as a deserter. Advises that Robert Major had got him discharged by Judge Ellenborough's Warrant and produced his discharge from HMS Tisiphone. Advises that he thinks the actions of Robert Major to recover James Miller are dishonourable and asks for directions as to whether he should take James Miller for HM service.
