Folio 170: James Macnamara, HMS Berwick, Downs. Encloses a copy of a letter he sent to the Navy Board.
Folio 171: enclosed with folio 170. Letter dated 24 October 1810 by Captain James Macnamara, HMS Berwick, Downs, to the Principal Officers and Commissioners of the Navy. Advises that the ship's steering is defective and when laid up for almost 12 months at Sheerness she frequently struck her moorings. Advises that an official representation of these circumstances was made to the yard at Sheerness, prior to her being commissioned, without effect.
Folio 172: enclosed with folio 170. Document to be sent to the Paper Office dated 24 October 1810. About Captain James Macnamara advising HMS Berwick's defective steering.
