Folios 605-606: Robert Mends, Regulating Officer, Liverpool. Replies to the letter of 25 [August 1807] stating that William Griffiths entered himself at Lieutenant Rees's Rendezvous on 17 [August 1807] as a Landman Volunteer aged 20, native of Wales. He believes that Margaret Griffiths's letter is full of lies, Replies to the letter to Captain Colquitt of the same date stating that William Ellis was impressed on 25 [July 1807] as an Ordinary aged 33, saying he was a native of America. He had no American Protection and from his accent he suspected him to be an Irishman.
