Folios 176-177: George McKinley, HMS Lively, off the Rock of Lisbon. Reports that Lieutenant Charles Griffith of the Royal Marines, currently serving on board HMS Lively, sustained a shot to his right eye on a shooting party prior to the ship sailing from Falmouth last December. He has lost sight in the eye, is now experiencing much pain, and is in danger of losing sight in the other eye. He is a young man of excellent character and Captain McKinley has granted him leave to go to London for advice.
Folios 178-179: enclosure with folios 176-177. Copy letter dated 2 April 1807 from Lord Strangford, Santa Martha, to Captain Stevenson. The name of the American vessel which he described to Captain S last Monday is the Orozembo, the Master is called Brewster. Lord S has received authentic information that several French officers intend to proceed in her as passengers, and although Charlestown was taken with minimal damage, there is every reason to believe the Master intends to sail to some part of South American continent. The Ononzembo will certainly sail before next Monday/Tuesday.
