Folios 220-221: Nicholas Lockyer, HMS Hound, Woolwich.
Refers to a letter with an enclosure from Edmund Coleman, pilot. Lockyer states that before going into the Nyborg transport ship he received his certificate of service on board HMS Hound up to 19 August 1809. He was discharged from the books on 13 September 1809 since when he has not been seen or heard from. Also states that when asked to taken charge of the ship in the entrance to the Belt and declared himself incapable.
Folio 222: enclosure with folios 220-221. Edmund Coleman, Yarmouth, 17 March 1809 writes to protest about being unable to obtain his certificate of service from Captain Lockyer or other sources. He states that he served on one of the Deans Vessels taken at Nyborg at the Great Belt and went on board HMS Hound. He provides details of his work taking grain to various ships and then found that the fleet had sailed. He went on board HMS Proselyte, then to HMS Kite before taking her to the Nore.
