Folios 92-93: William Granville Lobb, HMS Pomone, Downs. States as directed by Rear Admiral Bartholomew Samuel Rowley he reports on the case of Thomas Rowling said to be Mate of the Trelawney, on enquiring he finds he was pressed as Shields out if the ship: that he entered on board her as Mate in December 1804 at Ten Guineas a Voyage; he denies his signature in the enclosed contract to be his, which mentions his entry 17 march [1804] at £6-18s-od or does he know any of the men mentioned therein except the Master and Carpenter, he can scarcely write his own name; and the whole appears to him are imposition the enclosed he was directed to return.
Folios 93A-93B: enclosure with folios 92-93. Letter dated 15 April 1805 by Thomas Ferguson, No 3 George Yard, Lombard Street, to the Admiralty. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] articles belonging to the ship Trelawney proving that Thomas Rowling was really and bona fide the mate on board the said ship. He requests the immediate discharge of Thomas Rowling.
