Description

Folios 22-23: William Luke, Sea Fencibles, Falmouth. Acquaints them that as per orders in a letter dated 11 October 1805 he proceeded to inspect the Sea Fencibles within his District and to discharge such men as do not appear to come within the strict letter of their Lordships Instructions. At several places on this coast there are men whose usual occupation is working at Husbandry and other Trades, although during the Pilchard Fishing Season, which is about ten weeks in the year, they are employed on board the lean boats as rowers for the Militia. He therefore requests direction if these men should be discharged.
