Description

Folios 253-254: John Wentworth Loring, HMS Utrecht, Downs. As ordered he enclose two writs [not present] of Habeas Corpus from two men onboard HMS Utrecht, and their cases are as follows:- George Townsend and Thomas Frosdyck were received from the Deal Rendezvous on 5 April 1804 having been impressed out of the Leviathan South Seaman and they are both under age.

Folio 255: enclosure with folios 253-254. Letter dated 1 May 1804 by Lieutenant Hugh Anderson, Impress Service, Deal, to Captain George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] indentures for George Townsend and Thomas Frosdyck. and state that as they had nearly served their full time and being 21 he thought justified in having impressed them.

Folios 256-257: enclosure with folios 253-254. Letter dated 1 May 1804 by George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal, to the Admiralty. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Lieutenant Hugh Anderson with the indentures [not present] of George Townsend and Thomas Frosdyck who have nearly served their time and are over 20.
