Description

Folios 260-261: John Larmour, HMS Clyde, the Nore. Acknowledges orders to arrive at St. Petersburg, communicate with the Hanoverian Minister there and to offer to send any plate or other articles in his possession belonging to His Majesty which he so wishes to be sent to England. Advises he has 70 cases containing plate, linen and 5 casks of money which was brought from the King's Palace at Hanover. He has also brought 2 of the household who are in charge of the trove. Request orders about how to dispose of the said articles. Encloses a copy of Count Munster's letter.

Folios 262-263: enclosed with folios 260-261. Letter dated 28 October 1803 by Count Munster, St Petersburg to Captain Larmour. As ordered by His Majesty, he confirms he has delivered on board 70 cases and 5 barrels containing plate, linen and other objects belonging to the King. Advises that Mr. Hollman and Mr. Gourley from His Majesty's household are with the effects on board HMS Clyde and ready to go with them when landed.

Folios 264-265: enclosed with folios 260-261. Letter dated 1 December 1803 by George Best, Mortlake to the Admiralty. Acknowledges a note and advises he has to go to Windsor the next day and hopes to have more information by Saturday morning.
