Folios 251-252: Alexander Montgomery Jones, Exmouth, Devon. Advising that when he had been in command of HMS Talbot in 1809, the acting master, Joseph Harfield, had been left ashore somewhere and subsequently an R was marked against his name. However it transpired the man had immediately joined HMS Magnet and Jones does not believe he had any intention to desert, so asks if the R may be removed.
