Folios 231-232: Henry Fyge Jauncey, HMS Hope, Spithead. In response to Admiralty directive to nominate a first lieutenant for the Hope, he asks that they appoint Lieutenant Arthur Brooking, second of the Redwing. Notes that though Brooking has not served quite 3 years as lieutenant, nor had his predecessor Lieutenant Grove when first appointed.
