Folios 172-173: Richard Gaire Janverin, Hull Rendezvous. Replying to admiralty query of 2 May, says that Thomas Crabtree entered at the Rendezvous on 22 May and was sent aboard the Cadmus, to the Nore. He seemed to be aged about 36, had described himself as master of a river craft and had appeared sober, but refused to answer further questions.
Folios 174-175: enclosure with folios 172-173. Letter from the 'friends' of Thomas Crabtree claiming that he had entered while intoxicated and offering to pay for his discharge or provide substitutes.
