Folios 12-13: James Jack, Dartmouth. Sends an advice he has received from the Navy Office in response to his application for half-pay up to 31 December 1814, for which he had sent the necessary affidavit. Says that not receiving his pay has made a material difference to his life as it is all he has to depend on, and asks that it may be paid by the collector of customs at Dartmouth.
Folios 14-15: enclosure with folios 12-13: Form notice from the Navy Pay Office, noting that as Captain Jack's name is not on the half-pay list he must apply to the Admiralty.
