Folios 267-268: Richard Gaire Janverin, HMS Pluto, Spithead. Reports that the Carpenter Mr Charles Blackmore lately appointed to HMS Pluto in the room of Mr [Alexander Alexander], who is [now] appointed to HMS Hamadryad has not yet joined, nor can he find or do he know any thing of him or the ship to which he belongs. The letter of appointment being addressed"Mr Charles Blackmore, Acting Carpenter, HMS Pluto, Portsmouth" but there being no such person on HMS Pluto he request to know how he is to act.
