Folio 246: James Irwin, HMS Rinaldo, Northfleet. Reports that Robert Doble Carpenter of HMS Valorous has not made his appearance although appointed on the 16 September 1808 to HMS Rinaldo. Request the appointment of William Bucan [Buchan] now on board as Supernumerary from HMS Nimrod has served as a Carpenter and Caulker and has certificates recommending him to promotion in a very strong manner.
