Folios 282-283: Samuel Jackson, HMS Mosquito [Musquito], Yarmouth Roads. Encloses a letter and states that Lieutenant Emerton's request to be superceded does not reflect on badly on him and will be sorry to lose him. If his health recovers and he is able to serve again, then due to the wounds he received in the service he has some claim on their Lordships for a good appointment. If his application is granted, requests another Officer to be appointed particularly as no Master has ever been appointed to HMS Mosquito [Musquito].
