Folios 262-263: Samuel Jackson, HMS Mosquiito [Musquito], Hawke Roads, Humber. Replies to enquiry of 16 September [1805] to state the case of Robert Liffin impressed and now serving on board HMS Mosquito [Musquito].He was impressed as his Master could not produce any lawful indentures. He did not think the certificate that was produced was satisfactory. He believes the fact is that after being bound apprentice he deserted from his Master, but as a result of his Master threatening to send him to HM service he returned again and as his first indentures consequently were cancelled he had no others to produce.
Folios 264-265: enclosure with folios 262-263. Letter dated 13 September 1805 from Robert Baus, N Yarmouth, to William Marsden, Admiralty Office, London. He wrote to him on 1 August [1805] correcting the name of the ship in which his apprentice Robert Liffin was impressed to which he received no reply. HMS Musquito is again in those roads and so he asks for his discharge to be ordered.
