Folios 214-215: Samuel Jackson, HMS Mosquiito [Musquito], Yarmouth Roads. Replies to a letter from Rear Admiral Rowley concerning William Gordon now serving on board his ship. William Gordon was sent from HMS Zealand at the Nore in a draught of men to complete the complement of Able Seamen of HMS Mosquito [Musquito]. He believes the statement made by the Master of the Montego Bay is correct. If he is discharged, asks to be supplied with another Shipwright.
Folios 216-217: enclosure with folios 214-215. Letter dated 17 December 1804 from Thomas Blenkinsop, Agent, to the Admiralty. William Gordon, Carpenter of the Montego Bay of London employed in the West India trade was impressed from on board on 12 October [1804] and is now detained on board HMS Mosquito [Musquito], Samuel Jackson Commander. Encloses documents [not present] in order for him to be discharged. A wife and 5 small children depend on him and are reduced to poverty.
