Folios 394-395: George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. To Sir Philip Stephens Bart. States that some time in May 1803 a person who calls himself Anthony Tudor Son of James Connor stopped him in the street and said he was sent on come down to Deal to get intelligence from the other side, and as he should have business with him he would get a letter of introduction from you, Since his first arrival he has been examined before Mt Long, Mayor of Deal but denies his being a Frenchman though he allows he has lived there, and is a Frenchman in dress, speech and every action, and a very suspicious character. He encloses a copy of his Certificate of Baptism. [Folio 395] Copy of Certificate of Baptism for Anthony Tudor Son of James Connor late of Llangendeirne in the County Carmarthen. Signed James Edwards Curate of Llangendeirne. Dated 21 August 1803.
