Folios 383-384: George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Lieutenant Hugh Anderson and a Protection granted to Samuel Moss as there was great reason to suspect he had been at Sea before the date of his Indentures. He was brought on shore when he confessed he was an Able Seaman, and has entered as Volunteer for His Majesty's Fleet and was sent onboard HMS Utrecht yesterday evening.
Folios 385-386: enclosure with folios 383-384. Indenture for Samuel Moss bound to William Skinner of Ruswarp [Whitby]. Dated 15 February 1802.
Folio 387: enclosure with folios 383-384. Letter dated 7 September 1803 by Lieutenant Hugh Anderson, Impress Service, Deal, to George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Covering letter for the enclosed Protection [Indenture] granted to Samuel Moss as an Apprentice to William Skinner. On questioning him he confessed that he had been to sea before such was granted.
