Folios 370-371: George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Reports he has received a letter from the Commissioners of His Majesty's Navy Board dated 10 August 1803, saying his travelling expense the 16 of June 1803 to visit the Rendezvous at Margate and Ramsgate cannot be allowed the distance from Deal being more than 10 miles, without an Order from the Admiralty. States he visited Ramsgate and Margate on the 14 July 1803 and Dover and Folkestone on 18 July 1803 to monitor the Gangs. Likewise he went to Dover and Folkestone to discharge Lieutenant Charles Burlton and to break up Lieutenant Francis Storey's Rendezvous. as the distance is more than 10 miles he request the Admiralty allow him his travelling expenses. He also plans to continue to visit Ramsgate and Margate Rendezvous occasionally.
