Folios 341-342: George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Lieutenant John Ribouleau and regret the loss by repeated accidents of his service of a very correct officer.
Folios 343-344: enclosure with folios 341-342. Letter dated 21 June 1803 by Lieutenant John Ribouleau, Deal, to George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. States that in consequence of his legs being considerably jammed between the ships side and the gunwale of the boat on 21 April in boarding the Perseverance East India Man in order to Impress her men and his being wounded in the same leg some time ago in service in the West Indies he has been under a Surgeon. He requests an Officer be appointed in his room and hoping to return at a later date.
Folio 344A: enclosure with folios 341-342. George Fitzgerald, Surgeon, Deal. Certificate dated 21 June 1803. That Lieutenant John Ribouleau has been under his care since 21 April 1802 in consequence of an injury to his leg.
