Folios 294-295: George Irwin, Regulating Officer, Deal. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Lieutenant Hugh Anderson in answer to the complaint made by Francis Rooden belonging to the Alnwick Castle. He states that the crew of the Alnwick Castle got drunk and on 22 April 1803 the crew took possession of the ship and took the ship up the River against the inclination of the Pilot. Sir Home Riggs Popham dispatched HMS Jalouse after her but she could not get up with her. If his Chest and Bedding where taken out by mistake they are on board HMS L'Pique [HMS Pique] Captain William Cumberland at Portsmouth.
