Folios 265-266: Jonathan Irwin, 230 Piccadilly. In consequence of a letter from Mr Wilkie late Surgeon of HMS Pigmy. Requesting him to state to the Admiralty on his conduct during the space of two years and a half as Surgeons Mate of HMS Boadicea where he was First Lieutenant. In answer he can with full confidence assert that Mr Wilkie's conduct during that time was diligent, attentive, respectful and merited a much better situation (Surgeon of any HM Ship). With respect to the late Captain Richard Goodwin Keats, he often told him that Mr Wilkie was a respectful clever young man.
