Folios 255-256: John Irwin, HMS Puissant, Spithead. In answer to the Memo dated 29 July 1803 requesting he reports the state in the case of Richard Pearce a Supernumerary Landsman on HMS Puissant. He was impressed at Poole out of a Clay Barge on 20 July 1803 and sent be the Regulating Captain at Poole to his ship, he has never been to sea.
Folios 257-258: enclosure with folios 255-256. Letter dated 25 July 1803 by John Brooks, Stratford, Essex, to the Admiralty. Requesting the discharge of Richard Pearce, Impressed by Lieutenant Osmond [Thomas Spearing Osmer ?] under Captain Thomas Walbeoff at Poole. He has a protection.
Folios 259-260: enclosure with folios 255-256. Letter dated25 July 1803 by J W Adams, Crutched Fyres [Crutched Friars], [London.] Covering letter for the letter from Mr Brooks and states Mr Brooks would be willing to offer substitutes.
