Folios 102-103: Nicholas Ingram, Sea Fencibles, Weymouth. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] Return of Volunteer Sea Fencibles raised in the District he Commands. He states that he has received a plan of a Volunteer Naval Armament for the protection of the Coast from my Lord Dorchester which he has laid before the Merchants & Ship Owners of this Port they do not by any means seem inclined to adopt the Plan. He does not think Vessels armed are at all Calculated for this Port as they can only be got out at High water if Government would allow him Eight Row Boats with a piece of Ordnance in each, 2 stationed at Weymouth, 2 at Portland, 2 at Lulworth & 2 at Abbotsbury. He thinks, this would make the Sea Fencibles a useful Corps. He encloses a receipt of a Volunteer sent on board HMS Fairy - Captain Alexander Brine sent one Man to pool last week.
Folio 104: enclosure with folios 102-103. Expenses claim for £0-16s-6d for keeping one man from 17 August 1803 to 20 August 1803.
Folio 105: enclosure with folios 102-103. A Receipt for the Men sent on Board HMS Fairy which entered for HMS Tribune. Signed William Fitzroy.
