Folios 467-468: Bendall Robert Littlehales, HMS Penguin. He has arrived with the convoy following Admiral Kingsmill's orders. He encloses a list of the convoy and the state and condition of the Penguin. He proposes to sail in order to execute the other part of the Admiral's orders.
Folios 469-470: enclosure with folios 467-468. Letter dated 2nd June 1799 by Robert Kingsmill, Admiral of the Blue and Commander in Chief, HMS Polyphemus, to Captain Littlehales. Instructions to make signal for the convoy under his protection to sail to the English Channel with the vessels bound for the West Indies and any joining at Falmouth to Plymouth. To proceed from Scilly 50 Leagues west of Cape Clear and keep look out for the enemy fleet and gather information from any vessels. To cruise for 5 or 6 days off Cape Clear Any important intelligence should be dispatched as soon as possible from an English Port to the Admiralty. PS: Vital intelligence should also be communicated to Admiral Bridport
